California law firm focuses on complex litigation related to trusts, estates, and the transfer of wealth

CARLSBAD, CA, November 08, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Attorneys Stewart R. Albertson and Keith A. Davidson, founders of the law firm Albertson & Davidson, LLP, are speaking at the annual Hawaii Tax Institute conference scheduled for Nov. 5-9 in Honolulu.

The 60th annual event, sponsored by the Hawaii Tax Institute Foundation and Chaminade University of Hawaii, is one of the nation’s premier tax and wealth transfer conferences with a distinguished faculty of speakers. It offers a forum for attorneys, accountants, financial planners, trust administrators, wealth management professionals, and other interested professionals to discuss practical issues related to the transfer of wealth and taxation.

The attorneys at Albertson & Davidson, LLP, focus on trust, estate, and probate litigation in California and enjoy sharing insights about this area of law. They are knowledgeable and aggressive trial attorneys who handle complex inheritance matters, will contests, financial elder abuse, and trust disputes. They have honed their skills in courtrooms throughout California and helped clients obtain more than $250 million in verdicts and settlements.

At the Tax Institute conference, Mr. Albertson and Mr. Davidson will take part in two conference sessions. They will speak on trust disputes and how to survive being deposed as a drafting attorney, trustee, or wealth transfer advisor in a trust contest. They will offer insights as to what an attorney conducting a deposition typically wants to accomplish and how best to perform under questioning. They’ll also discuss common conflicts of interest that arise in this area.

The trial attorneys also will serve on a panel discussing the topic: How to Spy a Lie: Detecting Lies and Liars in Transferring Wealth. Wealth transfer professionals must interact with people daily to gather evidence for their cases. However, not all the information they receive is accurate. Dealing with lies and false information is an important part of a modern-day wealth transfer practice.

Stewart R. Albertson received his law degree from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and obtained an LL.M. degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. Before attending law school, he served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army.
