Bronfman Rothschild today announced that Glen Macdonald, who advised on $100 million under management at U.S. Trust, has joined Bronfman Rothschild as a Managing Director in the firm’s New York office.

Macdonald is an experienced private family and institutional investment advisor with a focus on comprehensive wealth and investment management, impact investing and philanthropy. Macdonald is recognized nationally as a leader in values-based investing and innovative philanthropy. He is Co-Founder and Chairman of the Wealth & Giving Forum, which promotes the purposeful and effective deployment of capital among families and foundations that seek both positive financial and social returns.

Before becoming a wealth advisor, Macdonald was a principal at a private equity firm and a vice president at Adventis Corporation, a strategy consultancy. Earlier in his career, Macdonald was a partner at PricewaterhouseCooper’s management consulting unit.

Macdonald has presented his perspective on the capital markets, impact investing and philanthropy at various conferences, including the Forbes Family Business Conference, Big Path’s Impact Investing Summit, the Social Impact Exchange Conference, and the Family Wealth Alliance. He currently serves on the Board of the Crane Institute of Sustainability and the Borough of Manhattan Community College Foundation.

He received his B.A. with highest honors in political science and economics and his MA in international relations, both from UNC-Chapel Hill. He has been a recipient of several fellowships, including a Ford Foundation Fellowship at the Harvard Center for International Affairs, the French Government’s Chateaubriand Fellowship and a Fulbright Scholarship to conduct field research in Mexico.
