Best Dressed Ball raises more than $1.7 million for the American Cancer Society
LOS ANGELES, CA, August 25, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Attorneys Stewart R. Albertson and Keith A. Davidson were among more than 2000 guests in attendance at the EXCEL Baton Rouge Best Dressed Ball, a top fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
As the name of the glamorous event suggests, the attendees wore tuxedoes and high-fashion evening gowns to support a serious mission — raising money to continue the fight against cancer.
Presented by Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Institute, this year’s 56th Baton Rouge Best Dressed Ball raised more than $1.7 million for the American Cancer Society. Mr. Albertson and Mr. Davidson, founders of the California law firm Albertson & Davidson, LLP, were pleased to attend the gala and to make personal charitable contributions to support the worthwhile cause.
From its start as a small fashion show, the Baton Rouge Best Dressed Ball has become one of the American Cancer Society’s top 10 fundraising events in the nation and an anticipated, festive social event. The ball was held on Aug. 12 at the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge.
The American Cancer Society seeks to improve the lives of people with cancer through advocacy, research, and patient support and to ensure everyone has an opportunity to find, treat, and survive cancer. The Society takes pride in having contributed to the work that has led to a 29 percent decrease in the overall cancer death rate in the United States. That decrease equates to 2.9 million fewer cancer deaths between 1991 and 2017.
